Mini-holiday

I haven't written in ages, I took pictures but never got to the writing stage, ha!

It is freeeezing in our appartment there is something wrong with the heating. Although this place has always been cold but this is like ice age. We have to wear sweaters and wool socks and a blanket and it's still cold. It's 18 degrees celcius inside and 8 degrees outside. The good thing about this place is that it was cold in the summer too so we weren't sweating like pigs.

Fortunately we had a mini-holiday last weekend and we went to Sokos hotel at Vuokatti for one night. Aleksi has had so much work and since he had the weekend off we desided have a romantic getaway. We had a lovely time there and the hotel was realy nice.
Here is the hotel.

It was raining so the camera got wet but this was our room.

We had late dinner at the hotel.
Very manly drink! Haha. The drink was called shaman. The only thing missing is a pink umbrella.
Mine was some sort of coffee drink. We didn't like it.
 I had chicken.
 Aleksi got ribs.
Time for some relaxation. Although the tub was quite small.

Wanted to get a picture of the autumn colors in the scenary.
This was just so cute and beautiful that I had to capture it.

Date with the hubby

Today was a sunny day so we desided to go to the maket place to enjoy the summer. When we were walking to the market from our car we saw this little shop that sells tee, nuts and all sorts of things. We went in to check it out and came out with two little bags of different liquorise and this cola flavoured drink.

We sat on this dock by the sea at the market place.

Here's a picture of the market.

Later we went to a restourant for a dinner date to this italian place.

I had this salmon tagliatelle.

And Aleksi took this oven spaghetti with ham and bolognese and cream sauce.

Both were good but I was missing some salt :) it was really creamy and a little too bland for my taste. We both got really stuffed and felt really hot in there so we went outside and got some ice cream from an ice cream kiosk.

This was super yummu.

Ok so I didn't take a picture of what Aleksi got but in my defence he was so boring with his choice that it didn't deserve to be photographed.
When we got home we had to wash our dog since the breeder is taking her to a dog show tomorrow. I'll keep you updated on how she did. And we managed to clean the house, yay us!

All in all a good day!!

Shopping, shopping, shopping

It's been pretty sunny for the whole week so far. Today is actually really hot. We've been shopping every day this week. On Monday we went to the city to find some clothes for me and visit a used-book store. That's where Aleksi always buys his manga because it's cheaper there. This time I found a book about starting a business. On Tuesday we went back to look for a dress and to order a book that DulceCandy87 (on youtube, blog) recommended. And today we went to two flee markets to see if we would find anything.

On Monday I found this cute top

On Tuesday I found this pretty dress for a wedding we're going to next month. It was 50% off!

And I got a new wireless mouse.

And I made some cabbage soup

Cappage soup:
1 cappage
3 carrots
 beef stock
400 g minced meat
3/4 dl rice
2 tbsp sirup

Wash and chop your cappage. Peel carrots and chop them. Put the cappage and the carrots in a pot and fry them for a while. Fry minced meat on a pan. Add the meat to the pot and pour beef stock (or about 1 l of water and 2 stock cubes) till everything is covered. Add rice and sirup and stir. Let the soup boil about 30 minutes and it's ready to serve.

This is a food people eat in Finland. Some love it some hate it. I love it :) This is how my mom does it. I don't know if it's the same abroad.

Today I found this cute tee pot from a flee market.

It was really hot so we got ourselves some ice cream.

Birthday

It was my birthday on Sunday. I turned 24. We didn't really do much. I made an apple pie in the morning since I knew my brother and his girlfriend were coming to visit with their baby boy.

Here's what my husband had bought to celebrate my birthday. And he sais we'd
buy me a new laptop later. I love him. He spoils me rotten!

Weekend getaway

We packed our things in the morning and left to the hotel. Maybe a little over packed for just one night but we wanted to be prepared for different ocsassions and weathers.

Here's the gift card we got for a wedding present.

Almost there. Here's a sign to the hotel.

This is the front enterance of the hotel. This hotel is not a fancy 5 star hotel, it is a wilderness styled hotel.

The hotelroom was a disapointment so we desided to go for a hike. The weather was very gray, it actually rained occationally. The good thing about it though was that there were less mosquitos and it wasn't like burning hot.

This is where we hiked to.

We grilled some sausages in this hut and dried ourselves for a little while.

So glamorous looking! We were wet from the rain and sweat.

When we came back from the hike we were exhausted and wanted to go to a nearby spa resort and soak in a hottub. We called to the front disk to ask about the spa and found out we had 45 minutes before the hotel's restaurant was going to close. We had to just take quick showers and dress to get there in time. I would've wanted to be all dressed up and put on make-up and curl my hair but there was so little time that I just put on nice clothes and a few jewels.

Here are some pics from the restourant. I forgot the camera in our room so these were taken with my husbands cell.

It took so long to get the food and we were really hungry that I forgot to take pics of the food. But I did take a pic of the desert. Yam!

Of course when we were leaving the sun was shining so we desided to have these delicious ice creams.
